Elthorne Works is a residential/ industrial co-location typology for MHA London that boosts local housing delivery while intensifying critical industrial activities.

The 0.77 hectare plot was identified by the local authority as a Locally Significant Industrial Site (LSIS) and initially resisted for any residential use. The architectural response brings the two uses together to provide 213 homes for Shared Ownership and London Affordable Rent alongside purpose-built spaces for light industry.

The placemaking response reconnects the existing residential context with Brent River Park, while providing safe and secure industrial servicing and homes that address both parkland and the immediate context.

Supported by the GLA, the proposals were approved by Ealing Council in August 2020.
