Surrounded by the sensitive heritage setting of Woolwich's Royal Arsenal, Macbean Street proposes a new townscape composition for a previously derelict 1.17 hectare site in the heart of Woolwich town centre for Legal & General.

Set within a generous public realm, the development occupies less than 50% of the site area, 21,775 sqft of flexible commercial space and 595 multi-tenured homes.

The aspiration was to shape a collection of buildings that would articulate Woolwich's skyline. The buildings are orientated radially around the open spaces to maximise sun and daylight and primarily clad in brick and metal, reflecting the historic character of the area.

Proposals were submitted for planning in November 2020.
