The refurbishment of Stanley Mills near Stroud for Gladedale Special Projects will provide 145 new homes and new factory buildings arranged around a series of courtyards. The setting of the Grade I and II listed buildings will be enhanced by cleverly renewing the less historically significant buildings and focussing attention on the key heritage and historical assets which define the mills.

At the same time new, sensitively designed housing is planned with care around the landscaped mill pond. The main 1813 mill will feature a large open commercial space at ground level with residential space above. The key vision was to protect the history, whilst ensuring that the Mill continues to live and have a function in the 21st Century.
