Wood Wharf is a new waterside city quarter to the east of Canary Wharf. Situated within a dense masterplan, our buildings for Canary Wharf Group's development comprises two 10 and 11-storey buildings that together accommodate 122 affordable homes, a primary school, an underground sports hall and a medical centre.

The plot is articulated as a white precast concrete plinth that binds together community uses at ground level. As these buildings mark the eastern gateway to the wider development, the plinth gently divides between the blocks to form a landscaped public route into Wood Wharf.

A relentless efficiency in plan layout and façade approach enabled a higher external specification than typically associated with social housing to match the internationally leading architecture of neighbouring buildings at Wood Wharf. Combined with a site-wide carbon reduction of 31%, the project raises the bar for affordable housing in London.

This project is currently on site, with completion expected in late 2021.
