The powerful forms of Daniel Libeskind’s museum should be enhanced and clarified by the landscape around it – this was the starting point which led to our strategy for this competition. Removing the clutter around the building but keeping the key infrastructure enabled the budget to allow for bold interventions – thereby creating an imaginative and unfamiliar landscape, which is nonetheless legible and accessible for visitors.
