Royal Academy Summer Exhibition

Our façade study of 8-13 Casson Square is currently on display at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition. Curated by Spencer de Grey, sustainability was the theme for this year's Architecture Room. The complex, crafted organisation of the building's external appearance is expressed through a modular system of unitised façade panels. Manufactured off site, full-storey single and double-bay façade portions are delivered to site, glazed, sealed and ready to be craned into place. The production method benefits from waste-conscious, controlled factory conditions that lower the building's overall environmental impact. From 10 June - 12 August, 10:00 - 18:00 daily, £18 (concessions available).

Following a 3.5 year closure, York Road ticket hall reopens to the public. The original ticket hall was built to serve the 1951 Festival of Britain and was later subsumed as part of the Shell complex. Today, it forms the gateway to the emerging Southbank Place and more importantly, it creates new pedestrian connections between Waterloo Station and the Thames. Located over three levels at the base of 8-13 Casson Square, this has been one of our most technically complex projects to date.
